Meeting the oldest fish in the
world: the Coelacanth
Underwater photographer Laurent Ballesta, scientific
consultant to Ushuaïa Nature with Nicholas Hulot,
invites us to participate in his face to face with
the oldest fish in the world, at a depth of 120 meters.
34 prints dedicated to this mythical fish, which can
measure up to 2 meters, the first example of which
was (re)discovered by the scientific community in
1938, having previously only known it as a fossil. |

Kessennuma
A display dedicated to the fishermen and aquaculturists
of Kessennuma in Japan. Presented by the Ganbalo Nippon
association and the Moriwa Umino Koibito association
("The Forest, fiancée of the Ocean").It
is this village that will benefit from the donations
collected by the Ganbalo association. Shigeastsu Hatakeyema,
founder of the association is a resident here. This
oyster farmer, ardent defender of biodiversity, is
a specialist in the culture of Miyagi oysters, imported
in the past to save the French oyster farming activity. |

Orda Cave Awareness Project
A display of incredible speleology photos coming from
Russia.
Started by the underwater photographer, journalist
and instructor Vitya Lyagushkin in collaboration with
journalist Bogdana Vashchenko, "Orda Cave Awareness
Project" invites us to discover the longest flooded
cave in Russia. Situated in Oural, a region known
for its richness in minerals, Orda Cave is the biggest
gypsum cave in the world. Its crystal water offering
visibility in excess of 60 metres. |

Samantha in Red Sea Waters
David Pilosof, Israeli photographer, introduces us
to Samantha, model and star of Mike Portelli's film
"Ocean's Daughter" which made an impression
on the Festival and inspired many producers. |
